Alternativ verweisen wir auf die Folgetermine am 26.04., 24.05. und 28.06.2025.\n„Jede neue Situation verlangt eine neue Architektur.“\nJean Nouvel\n \nDas ehemalige Dorf Gohlis wurde vermutlich bereits lange vor der ersten urkundlichen Erwähnung im Jahr 1317 als slawische Siedlung gegründet. Noch heute ist im Verlauf der Menckestraße das Zentrum der alten Ortslage deutlich ablesbar. Die Aufweitung in der Straßenmitte beherbergte den Anger als Dorfplatz des ehemaligen Langgassendorfes. Hier befanden sich eine Zeit lang die Dorfschule und ein Betsaal. Die Hauptstraße des Ortes wurde bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts von Bauerngehöften gesäumt. Bereits zu dieser Zeit war Gohlis ein beliebter Vorort, in dem sich auch Leipziger im Umfeld der Menckestraße Sommerhäuser errichteten. Bis zur Eingemeindung 1890 veränderte sich das Erscheinungsbild der Bebauung des Straßenzuges. Sie erhielt ein städtisches Gepräge mit mehrgeschossigen Mietshäusern. Der Rundgang beginnt am Schillerhaus, dem auf 1717 datierten ältesten noch dörflichen Gebäude der alten Ortslage. Von dort geht es über den Schillerweg mit Architekturzeugnissen der Mitte des 19.
