Bei seinem Landesherrn Karl Eugen fiel er damit aber auch in Ungnade, was seine wirtschaftliche Lebenssituation und damit auch seine Arbeit als Schriftsteller stark beeinträchtigte. Glücklicherweise besaß Schiller begeisterte Anhänger – so auch in Leipzig.\nEin Freundeskreis um den Juristen und Schriftsteller Christian Gottfried Körner (1756-1831) lud Schiller ein, unter anderem auch nach Leipzig zu kommen. Durch Vermittlung seines Verlegers Georg Joachim Göschen (1752-1828) verbrachte Schiller im Jahr 1785 die Sommerzeit in einem Bauernhaus auf der heutigen Menckestraße 42, dem Schillerhaus, wo unser Rundgang startet.\nSeine ausgedehnten Spaziergänge führten den Dichter durch das alte Gohlis, über die Felder zum Rosental, zur Gohliser Mühle und sicherlich auch zum nahegelegenen Gohliser Schlösschen.\n \nIn meinem Leben erinnere ich mich keiner so innigen prophetischen Gewissheit, wie diese ist,\ndaß ich in Leipzig glücklich seyn werde.\n \nUnter sachkundiger Führung wandeln Sie auf den Dichterspuren, besuchen seine Anlaufpunkte und erhalten historische Fakten und Hintergründe.
